   Uno de los ms comunes formatos de files para las secuencias video digitales en ambiente Windows.

   Para pasar de una aplicación a otra con Windows 9x se utiliza la barra de las aplicaciones que se encuentra en la parte inferior de la pantalla. A la izquierda se encuentra el pulsante de inicio y en la izquierda están los pulsantes de las aplicaciones abiertas. Para pasar a otra aplicación abierta, haz click sobre el pulsante correspondiente; para abrir un nuevo programa se hace click sobre el pulsante de inicio. Con Windows se pueden abrir varios programas contemporáneamente, lo que viene definido multitasking.

   Formato estandar para computers compatible con Windows. Las imágenes bitmap pueden ser utilizadas en sistemas windows y OS/2 soportando colores a 24 bit.

   Para organizar el disco duro y los archivos en ellos contenidos, Windows 9x utiliza las carpetas (que substituyen los directorios de MS DOS). Los archivos pueden a su vez ser organizados en otras carpetas creadas dentro de las preexistentes. Sustancialmente las carpetas funcionan como recogedores de fichas.
   Para crear las carpetas y ver la estructura del disco duro a travez de carpetas se utiliza la gestión de recursos.
